The Department of Education is one of the oldest department of Moran College. The Department started providing Honours course from 1990. Since then the Department is associated with various innovative works. The Department has an “Education Forum” since 2000 for enhancing and engaging students in productive and creative work. The Department publishes a yearly magazine name “SHRISTI”. The Department also publishes a wall magazine name “Emile”.
The vision of the Department is "To work for academic excellency and enhance all round abilities of students including personality, leadership and critical thinking in such way to help the students face real life challenges". The mission of the Department are : 1. To provide opportunities among students to engage in various community programmes such as World Health Day, World Environment Day, World Population, Awareness programmes, Blood Donation camp etc. 2. To enhance research knowledge and skills among students through project or field work. 3.To prepare students for teaching profession in near future through incalculating teaching skills, values, appraisal and professional ethics. 4. To give proper guidance and counselling to students on academic, personal, mental and other social issues.
